Enabling and Mentoring
For many students in receipt of DSA, the assistance of additional non-medical help is an important element of their awarded support. Claro Learning offers the full range of such services which are commonly referred to as Enabling.
Notetaking
Students with difficulties taking lecture notes may be entitled to support from a note taker. Claro provides trained notetakers who know how to take academic notes and deliver them to the student in a format that suits them.
Mentoring Support
Our mentors provide support with timetable and workload management, negotiating physical and other obstacles, personal discipline and other issues that from time to time confront students with special needs. All Claro mentors are trained to a high standard by qualified specialists.
Communication Support
Some students - such as those who are visual impaired or hard of hearing - need specialist support with their communication. We are ready with the appropriate specialist support.
Other NMH Services
Other Claro services include library assistance, readers, scribes, and assistive technology training (through our training division).
The above examples of our enabling and mentoring services are not exhaustive. Our basis message is that, within the DSA context, we respond to identified student needs for non-medical helper support - whatever they may be.
